Finally...

I got my hair cut!

Woohoooo!

It's about time. Now, I, of course, don't have a digital camera because I am rather behind the times. So, I can't exactly model the new 'do, but I think it pretty much looks exactly the same as it did, oh, a year ago. And, wouldn't you know, all of my pictures from back then look totally heinous to me now. Strange how that is. I guess I'm just better in the flesh, no?

While I'm here, let me make a PSA: people, wear sunscreen!
Thank you.

Anyway, I am stoked because next Saturday I begin my teaching certification program! That's what the haircut was really for-- I'm supposed to look more mature with less Amazonian hair. I have to disagree and admit that I look 17 again. I suppose that I'll have to force some crows' feet to develop and dye my hair even grayer (greyer?) to look my age.

Ah, something totally off the topics of hair and school: I finally watched the movie "The Life of David Gale". Holy guacamole, was that an intriguing flick. I was already rather anti-capital punishment; now even more staunchly opposed to it is Kerry. I'm a big fan of justice, sure, but tempered with heavy doses o' mercy. I actually came across website that set up penpals for prison inmates. As I read and reflected on the hopelessness and desperation of these incarcerated peeps, I wept. Watching the show "Prison Break" has also somewhat tempered my view of prisoners. The idea that anyone could be imprisoned unjustly... ack, I hate even contemplating it. Part of me balks at obtaining a penpal, due to the potential risks my fertile imagination can conjure. But perhaps that's something I'll do in the future, to spread a little bit of hope in the darkness.

Maybe it's time to watch that episode of Oprah I accidentally taped... I'd watch "24", but I've missed every season except for the first. Granted, I was addicted to the first season, but going abroad right before the second kind of nixed the continuity factor, eh.

Anyway... gotta jet.

You admit to getting your hair cut and not watching 24 all in the same blog. Shame, shame!
